CherryBone, a project for interactive dance and music.
CherryBone, will show multiple viewpoints related to alimentation and body. The piece is composed by four scenes, that correspond to four different interpretation of food. With different choreographic, technologic, visual and sound treatments, the scenes are articulated like concentric circles around a central and more abstract thematic core that works as a nourishing mechanism.
The human body faces this thematic in a double perspective: on one side in relation with the action of eating and the different cultural ways of eating; on the other side in relation to the mechanism of nutrition and its dysfunctions. Three interpreters (a dancer, performer and a musician) will lead the audience through different situations around the theme, wearing different kind of sensors that will capture physical and bio-physiological data that will help them creating an interactive dramatic scene. Cherry Bone is based on a structure of relations between stage space, human body on stage
and the audience. Stage space is an organic and sensible space that receives data of what’s going on through camcorders and different systems of wireless sensors. The captured data will be analyzed by software to interpret, for example, the space situation of performers or the physical distance between them. Thus performers can dialog with the digital information to build three-dimensional, sound and videograhic environment in real time linked to thematic of nourishing and body.
